Banks Farmland

Today we decided to head west to Banks, OR to take in part of the Columbia Loop Birding Trail. Our first stop was Killin Wetlands where we saw hawks, blue heron, ducks and possibly a beaver. Then we headed west to the Manning Trailhead and the Buxton Trestle, all part of the Banks-Vernonia State Trail. We checked out the LL. Stewart State Park where we got amazing vistas of the coast range from the hilltop day use area, then it was off to Vernonia Lake, where it was raining (we will return again). I really loved this photo that was taken at the beginning of our trip in the Banks area...it shows the beautiful farmland and the beginning of the coast range. This is such a pretty time of year with the changing of the trees.
