Bellingham Day 1

Here in Bellingham I'm staying with my friend Kat at the house she's housesitting for a couple of weeks. Part of the deal is looking after this cutey and a cantankerous cat. This one is actually quite young and only a new acquisition so he's not very well trained yet, there have been a few accidents, but he'll be a good one once he's learnt some manners. He does seem to be learning habits from the cat though - he drapes on the arm of the armchair, but does it looking a little awkward.

My first day was a gentle one, with a late breakfast in town, some playing with the animals, and a trip to Whatcom Falls. Bellingham is in the county of Whatcom. They reminded me of some of the falls in Tassie, and they were very pretty.

For dinner we went to a grill that does a before-6pm deal, and had soup, prawns and pie. I was completely stuffed full by the end of it. We went to an art exhibition, where I met Kat's boyfriend, and then to a lovely arthouse cinema, the Pickford, to see In a World. Although I don't usually like awkward humour, this one was good. The plot isn't terribly original in some ways, but it was interestingly made with some great lines and moments.

Good first day here.
