Severe flooding in Cambodia

There is severe flooding in Cambodia at the moment. One of our colleagues in Siem Reap describes the situation:

'My neighbors have it rough. Many of them have their houses surrounded now by a lake more than a meter deep. For those who have traditional houses up on stilts...they are fishing from their bedrooms. For the newly "rich" who have built brick and cement homes at ground level, they will have a lot of cleaning up to do. As everyone relies on wells of one sort or another for water, a shortage of drinking water is the first hardship. After that comes a shortage of fresh foods as people cannot bring vegetables and meats to the local village markets.'

IMPACT Cambodia is distributing emergency supplies to families who are stranded in Kandal Province.
