Would you trust this cash machine?
You'd be right not to. We decided to divert ourselves this evening by going to the cinema. Mistake! Don't go and see Dany Boon's latest film Eyjafjallajökull. We enjoyed his Bienvenue chez les Ch'ti's, the highest-grossing French film ever, but this film was just awful. It's very, very rare for us to walk out of a film before the end, but we did. It's supposed to be a comedy, but in 45 minutes we didn't laugh once, and neither did the other three people in the cinema.
Second mistake of the evening: as we left, S remembered he needed some cash. He inserted his card into the Banque Populaire's cash machine and it promptly popped up a Windows fatal error and rebooted itself. Why on earth do cash machines run Windows?? It hardly inspires confidence. We didn't want to go away in case it spat the card out again, so we had to wait ten minutes while it rebooted. This was the point where I scrabbled in my bag for my camera, realising I had a blip after not taking any photos all day.
Eventually it invited us to insert a card (not likely), and no amount of button-pressing would persuade it to eject the one it had swallowed. So S phoned the bank to stop the card. Not a terribly successful evening -- we decided we'd better drive carefully home.
PS eek: I never thought I'd blip a screenshot!
