"A Very Pretty Wildflower"...
...Well, that's what we think it is anyway, it would be native to Australia, but there are several different versions of it's name in our books...
...We think it is a Spotted Emu Bush, an Eremophilia maculata, or - a Native Fuschia as the flowers are similar to the others growing in the bushland right near us...but if it is an Emu Bush, it is quite large, very old, and it is covered in these lovely cream and violet flowers...which are fragrant..most Emu Bush flowers are red and yellow..
...We have never noticed the bush before, but it was slightly hidden by other scrubland, and - is growing right alongside the old Pioneer Cemetery here, not far from where we live..the old cemetery has only about 6 marked graves there, and maybe, just maybe some of these pretty flowers were placed originally on a
grave right there..
...We went into the old cemetery to see if the Native Quandung trees were still fruiting, and yes they are - I'll show you those tomorrow, they too, are so pretty...and very useful too and also native to Australia...we had previously taken our Grand-daughters there to show them the Quandung trees, but they were not quite ripe at the time..
