Peregrines in Tyninghame Bay

Mum & Dad used to mention Tyninghame quite regularly, I think there may have been a connection with folk working at the house, but that's lost in time now. So having never been there and having picked up on blip that the bay has a nice beach and the fact that there's some interesting birds around made it today's destination.

We got the tides wrong, well actually we never checked the tides and although we arrived early to do a fair bit of exploration because we were at the bay at lowish tide and for birds you want to be there at highish tide we spent all our time around the bay leaving the house and village for another day's exploration.

With the tide eventually coming in we settled down to watch the birds being driven towards us and then these two Peregrines turned up. They're fairly distant and it's a pretty dire photo, but their presence ensured that all the other birds were now fairly distant too. Having recently watched Arctic Skuas harassing Terns today it was Peregrines harassing Terns, the difference being today it was not the Tern's food but the Tern that ended up being the prey. RCB has an equally dire, but more close-up view.
