Yesterday I heard the rain
Today I heard the rain too and the wind and we're sat here listening to it playing tunes as it whistles through the vents in the windows and down a pipe. The tarpaulin on the house next door and is in shreds and hanging on by a whisker. I wish it would actually fly away as it's quite noisy.
It has been fun to watch the huge waves and watch the gulls and ravens battle against the gusts.
The sun has shone for periods through out the day and we have witnessed some fab rainbows. I'm always amazed how there can be bright sunshine and pouring rain at the same time.
We went to Isleornsay, a village lying off the main Armadale to Sleat Road. We watched a fisherman move his boat to a safer side of the harbour wall. He took a while and took several trips to the bar. When asked by the barmaid what it was like outside he replied bracing and 'there's snow on the Ben as they say in Fort William' the rest was said in Gaelic which may have contained some stronger words :)
After lunch (venison burger) we went back to the 'battleship' and saw a quick glimpse of an otter and some seals. We also spotted three minesweepers, One unidentified and the others HMS BLYTH M111 and HMS CATTISTOCK M31.
My blip shows the view from our holiday home, the waves were much bigger later in the day.
