MEET RYELAND

Meet Ryeland – he was very friendly today and posed for his photograph.

The Ryeland is an ancient breed of downland sheep. The breed is thought to have originated in the Herefordshire area of the UK. Producing high quality meat, it is a must for organic farmers as it feeds on grass alone.

In historical terms, it is thought to be the oldest recognised breed of UK sheep.
