Tattie Holidays

Tomorrow marks the start of what is known around her as the "Tattie Holiday" where families used to go off the various farms in NE Scotland to pick tatties and also have a bit of a holiday at the same time. I thought I mark this past event with, well a tattie.

I also remember my Mum and Dad telling me about when they used to go hop picking in the fields of Kent on a working holiday with dozens of other families and how with no theme parks or arcades the children used to have a fantastic time running around.

I just wonder how that would go down today.
