It has to get worse to get better.
Firstly, can I once again say a huge thank you to everyone who commented on my blip yesterday. I have tried to reply to you all but if I missed anyone I'm sorry.
I had today's blip all planned so I didn't take my camera out with me when I went to the shops and so missed a great shot of a huge, pretty caterpillar crawling on a wall. Then I decided that my self portrait was far too silly to post, so instead you've got a shot of Moo in the freezer.
Why is Moo in the freezer? I hear you ask. Well, following yesterday's news that I have a bad allergy to dust and dust mites, The Boy and I set about tackling the issue head on. I have a number of soft toys (presents, holiday souveniers etc) but they've all had to be packaged away for now as apparently dust mites love them. I couldn't bring myself to package moo away so instead he got frozen to kill them off.
The curtains have been washed, dying my window net bright pink in the process (ah, so that's why they were dry clean only). The bed has been stripped, nearly boil washed and remade. The mattress has been hoovered and flipped (yes I know you're supposed to do this once a month but really, does any actually have the time?) Surfaces have been dusted and carpets hoovered.
Even though I've had antihistamines today, my eyes feel like I've been punched repeatedly in the face. Oh well, it can only get better from here on in. We've also had a chat and seeing as there's two of us living in a room designed for one, we're going to box up all the stuff we won't need before the new year so that it's easier and less cluttered for me to keep on top of the dusting. The Boy has been fantastic though and has kept shooing me out of the room when the dust was bad (you just need to look at my feather duvet without it's cover on and feathers spray in to the room!)
We're getting there and I've started researching the longer term changes that will need to be put in place.
