Waterfoot Sunrise

Bracken Island

After the technical issues of the past few weeks I had hoped today would bring an end to the madness. Unfortunately, it was not to be. Woke up with the alarm at 7 o'clock to check out the sunrise. A cracking day but not enough clouds for a good blipping sunrise. Dived under the duvet again for an extra few winks with half an ear listening to Chris Evans on Radio 2. Then the radio went off. Blooming heck, there's been a power cut! Sure enough the radio was off but the LCD screen was still trying to display some information. That's strange thought I, so I got up and found the lights were on less than half power, cooker clocks were on but heating was off. The technological gods must be really angry today!

A quick phone call to SSE established we were not alone (quite a relief in itself!) and that others in the area had reported a similar fault. The good news was that the power was restored before 10 o'clock, which was certainly a lot better than the 4 days it was off in March!

Thereafter, it was to Campbeltown for the weekly shopping with Mrs B dropped off at Tesco while I went looking for a blip in the glorious autumnal sunshine. However, the blip I settled on was actually taken on my favourite part of the road back to Carradale. Davaar Island cloaked in its russet coloured bracken looked magnificent set against the blue sky and green fields.

Autumn can be such a wonderful season!
