A little nibble

I attended the learning conferences for both kids this morning. Both doing well so no problems.
For my records:

Olivia: She is doing exceptionally well with her her reading and writing and has been selected with a few others in her grade to attend an advanced reading group with the assistant head twice a week. Her maths is also very good and she gets on with everyone in the class and is very sociable. She sometimes needs motivation to start a task but once focused she works very diligently. She takes a long time to eat her lunch and needs constant reminders (a bit like at home) and she is quite an artist. I didn't get a chance to see the specialist teachers this time but I'm assuming everything is fine otherwise we'd have heard!

Dexter: He is very inquisitive and loves bugs and spends a long time hunting for them during playtime. He loves making snails with the play dough and playing with the water. His spoken English has developed rapidly and he parrots everything the teacher says when she's reading a book (which he's started doing at home too). He only wants to play with the girls and is not interested in the boys at all! He isn't much of an artist but he does like painting and mixing the colours and producing big blobs of mess which he apparently claims are princesses, bless him. He is a very happy little boy and will always take a 'polite bite' when trying new food.

Hubby returned home this evening so I prepared a nice meal for us which is no mean feat as I'm not known for my cooking skills!
