View From The Octagon Tower.
Today, I climbed 170 steps up a narrow spiral staircase to the top of the Octagon Tower of Ely Cathedral seeing the stained glass windows close up and moving on up to Edward the 3rd's Master Carpenter's oak lantern tower. This view was about three quarters of the way up. A wonder of medieval engineering and absolutely enthralling. As Ely is reasonably near and I have family there, I may go again on Sunday for the Harvest Festival.
