Ease your earthly cares

... a line from a song (Better Things) by Karine Polwart who we saw at the Drill Hall tonight. She is such an engaging singer and storyteller who has such a way with words that even in a completely post Purple-Friday and late late Thursday state, I still really enjoyed every single song. Her stunning a capella version of a poem by George Mackay Brown, about a young woman burned as a witch, was just amazing. The shot is of the stage during the interval with some sense of all of the instruments played by the three of them - and most of them by just the one, Inge Thomson. It was far from a colourless performance but my little camera didn't really do the situation justice so black and white it is this evening.
