Thistle Down

By Ethel

You

Look at yourself,
Look through your eyes.
What are your traits?
What is your size?

You are the judge,
And you give the test.
You are just you,
You know yourself best.

You're such a good girl,
And most times the same.
You've done nothing wrong,
To tarnish your name.

You smile with disgust,
At the guy with the gun.
And you follow with interest,
The Prodigal Son.

For you're not the person,
To bicker and taunt.
But with your kind of living,
You can be what you want.
