The air was crystal clear this morning, making the mountains appear sharp and close. Overhead there were pure white fluffy clouds, and between them the sky was so blue that I kept looking up to convince myself I wasn't imagining it. Later heavy grey clouds rolled over. Hail is predicted. I covered my lettuces and other tender vegetables.

I caught up on a few chores, including vacuuming! The kitchen floor could do with a wash, but I didn't want to overdo it. After lunch I renewed the edging for an odd-shaped vegetable plot, which was tricky because the new compost was piled on it.
