Tiny toadstools
After the antibiotics comes the predictably inevitable tummy upset, but, dosed up with Imodium, I wasn't going to let it stop me going out for the day, before everything closes up for the winter.
Visited Killerton House, near Exeter (nice grounds; not very interesting house), then Haldon Belvedere - much more interesting, and set in Haldon Forest, whose trees provided lots of fungi to photograph. The views from the top of the belvedere were limited by cloud and haze, but would definitely justify a return visit in the spring. The tower was built in 1788 in memory of Major-General Stringer Lawrence (1697-1775), commonly regarded as "Father of the Indian Army" and under whom Robert Clive (Clive of India) served.
However, it's these tiny toadstools that win today's blip slot. They were only about half-an-inch across. Anyone any idea what variety they are? (I've been unsuccessful trying to identify them from books and websites.)
