Neustadt Weinfest Finale Fireworks

Monday night saw the close of this year's Neustadt Weinfest. At yesterday's (televised-live!) Wine Harvest parade through the town saw around 50,000 spectators. I reckon there could have been almost as many at this end-of-festival fireworks display. It was superb. First, we went and sampled some new wine in the tents in town, and then walked up to the railway bridge for a good view of the display.

Took lots of photos and several came out well. Picked this one as it lights up the big wheel on the fairground below that took over the train station carpark for the duration of the festival. (Probably a nuisance for local commuters, but it all added to the atmosphere of a very exciting and good-humoured event.)
