Cells

The first day of the half-term holidays today and we headed to the Science Centre. We told Orla she could go when she got 20 stars, and she has 23. With it being half-term, and raining, the place was rammed. But once we were in we had lots of fun. The Body Works bit on the 3rd floor is just the best. We spent ages up there. Orla was much more aware of things this time, after watching all her YouTube videos. She was particularly interested in anything to do with cells and the immune system. Some Glasgow uni biology postgrads were there and Orla took part in a workshop on parasites. The object of the game was to take various knitted parasites and guess which part of the body they would attack. She was very chatty and full of questions for the girl. She told Orla that she knew a lot of stuff and Orla said "yes, I know everything". We'll have to sort that out! She also made a stomp rocket and spent ages in the Little Explorers bit. We renewed our science passports too, which was worth it just for saving us having to join the massive queue when we arrived.

Very tired today, not much sleep last night. This could be a very long week.
