A stroll on Skye
I love Skye. Surely it must have some of the most spectacular scenery anywhere? And on a day like this, it's hard to beat. Enjoying the afternoon sun, we took the path up to the stunningly beautiful Fairy Pools. A very popular destination these days, so no chance of going skinny dipping (though the water is so chilly that a wetsuit is recommended!). We ventured beyond the well beaten track of the tourists and spent some time exploring 'Waterpipe Gully which you can see in the background. It's a classic climbing route up onto the Cuillin ridge. I don't fancy climbing it myself - it's a bit dark, damp & slimy when you get up close. I think I'd much rather be out in the open air enjoying the views!
