Halloween has arrived

I'm told that Halloween arrived only recently in Japan, mainly in the context of American pop culture. Western style decorations are popping up all over the place from shop window displays to cookie cutters. and for a country that likes dressing up there are costume shops appearing on almost every corner. I'm told that in 2012 over 1700 dressed in costumes to attend the Kobe Halloween festival.
