Seasonal Fruit

Offerings at the local shrine are usually a good indication of which fruit and veg are in season.

When I lived in Jordan I had a garden full of fruit trees which included three generously fruiting fig trees. There is nothing better than stepping outside and picking your own - I do miss that. I shall be off in search of figs later. Yum!

To eat figs off the tree in the very early morning, when they have been barely touched by the sun, is one of the exquisite pleasures.
