I never cried.....
I didn't cry while having my flu jab anyway! Today was a day of starvation. The best I could manage during this busy day was a bit of toast! I logged in as usual but had a hell of a job getting onto my Xen box. I will have words with John Kelly tomorrow to tell him that I am getting far too old to waste half an hour in the morning trying to get the box to let me in. It's painful!
At 8:45, I went up the road to the doctor's surgery for my 9am flu jab appointment. I sat in the waiting room until 9:15 before I was called. At that time, it's just all the coffin dodgers and I as the normal workers tend to come in after work. One chap came in wearing the most terrible pair of yellow camouflage trousers with cowboy boots which had pointy steel toecaps! He was showing us all his tattoos and swaggering round the waiting room winking at his captive audience offering to do cheap tattoos. Maybe he was squinting rather than winking? Daft old buzzard! Hmmmm.... I hope I'm not going to go like that soon; doing mad things like wearing brightly coloured trousers, red knickers instead of my usual black and chatting up people in waiting rooms asking if they need anything worth winking about. Shoot me now, please!
Anyway, I had my painless jab, from the practice nurse not 'tattooed cowboy boot man' and fled home in time to see the postie leaving me a nice squidgy package in the porch which I am saving for Friday as I hope it's a birthday pressie judging by the little note on the back. Tesco Man arrived soon after and when I had dragged my shopping in, he asked if I had any old bags he could take away. Well, I could have taken that as a chat up line but replied 'no' and got back to work where all hell had broken loose. It was a wildly busy day but I felt like I'd achieved a lot when I finally logged off in time to catch Mr Squirrel on the roof of the shed about to go down to the nut container.
Phew! There endeth Wednesday. Oh shit! It's only Tuesday!
