A bolt from the blue....
Do you ever have those days when you realise something; in that penny dropping moment when the daylight dawns? The penny had probably dropped a while before but I'd bashed my head on the underside of the desk looking for that elusive penny. I had a couple of moments like that today. It was a peculiar day.
I had my McDonalds tea as usual and dawdled up to the council house. I spent half an hour hiding pens and notebooks in all available nooks and crannies around the office as the place I normally stash the stationery for the office had been taken over by other junk. I'd ordered a load of stuff from Lyreco on Monday and it had all arrived yesterday while I was home working. The boxes were all behind my chair and I couldn't move! I expect the pack of hardback jotters I balanced on top of a cupboard will probably tumble down and land on someone's head before the week is out. Never mind eh! I'm not back in the office until next week, maybe in time to sign the 'Get Well Soon' card.
It was another hectic day. Mike, one of the business analysts sidled up to me mid morning asking me how much I got for my 25 years' service award last year. I told him it was £100 and then told me he'd just got £250 for his award! They had changed the rules and increased the amount about a month after I'd got mine! Ha! Good job I'm not twitter and bisted! I told a friend via text later on and he suggested I put my feet up and did bugger all for the rest of the day in protest. When I told the rest of the office, they all agreed that no one would notice the difference. Bloody cheek!
Oh well... I didn't bother going out at lunchtime and had another egg sandwich and another minty Aero, my second lot of the day. It was pouring with rain out and Paul asked if he could borrow my umbrella. I agreed, threatening him with a painful, slow death if he should lose it.
Nothing much else happened today but I sorted a few things out anyway and learnt a few other things so it was an OK day.
Sorry the picture is not great but I left it late and the moon was all that was a possibility for me but there was a man outside wondering what I was doing which put me off a bit. I am not sure why I have a strange streak of light from top to bottom. I suspect Ben and Jerry's ice cream from the cinema at Ocean Terminal a few weeks ago. It keeps reappearing like the crucifix in photos on The Omen, impaling the next intended victim. Hmmmmm.
Track? This is an unusual one! It was on the radio while I was in the shower but I resisted the temptation to jig about - Bend Me, Shape Me
