Sunrise

My turn to post a sunrise from the kitchen window today. This is actually looking West, but the light and colour from the rising sun were colouring the clouds in the west. Normally we get gorgeous sunsets through this window. Unfortunately, the telegraph pole and the seven lines radiating out from it tend to intrude into the pictures.

We had work starting on our walls today. The skirting board under the dining room window has rotted and it looks like the culprit is slates which have fallen off the walls (we are slate-hung on two sides) and let water in. The first stage is fix the outside and the second, take out and replace the skirting board - and hope that the rot hasn't got into the floorboards and joists. We'll find out more tomorrow.

Also started cleaning the son's bedroom. The time consuming bit was dusting his lego constructions which he has kept on a shelf. While it may be a brilliant toy, it is a pain in the neck to dust/clean between all the little cylinders on top of the bricks. Had to retire a toothbrush to get into the gaps. Next time he's doing it himself!
