Waterfoot Sunrise

Here Comes the Rain!

The forecast was for clouds to spread north over Kintyre during the early hours with rain reaching us by lunchtime. The wind picked up overnight and turned to the south east - our most exposed direction.

It was a surprise therefore to see some breaks in the cloud at dawn and some redness behind Arran. I hadn't expected to see a sunrise so the early morning colours were a bonus. Unfortunately, the dark clouds were marching north on the freshening wind snuffing out much of the light and colour that was attempting to fill the sky. The rippling waves entering the estuary destroyed any chance of sharp reflections.

Not a brilliant sunrise, but a whole lot better than the grey clouds that are with us now ahead of the inevitable rain!
