Fanks for my dinner, Uncle Christopher! X
Well, after last night's unsettled evening, Eva finally went to sleep about 11.20 pm. She did wake up around 3 am and 6.30 am, but both times went straight back to sleep after a quick feed/cuddles. I was gob smacked to wake up before her then at 10 am, late for the second day running (have set my alarm on my phone for tomorrow morning).
I was so unsure what to do about going to Musical Babies today, as we'd have to leave by 1.15 if we were going, and that would be about the time she'd be ready for her nap if I judged it on how many hours by she'd have been awake compared to other days when she has her sleep. Plus it was absolutely lashing it down with rain. Plus she has quite bad happy rash at the moment, so Mike suggested staying home with her nappy off. We had hardly left the house since last Thursday though, and she loves Musical Babies, so I took her.
She loves Musical Babies. She was bouncing on my lap with a big smile on her face to the songs, and she loves to see Rhys and the other babies. She sat on Louise's lap to start with and was bouncing on her lap too. Then at break time, when they get the box of musical instruments out, she was sat on the floor reaching out for things and shaking the maracas and watching the rain sticks. When they did the Hokey Cokey I picked her up and we joined in and again she was all smiles. I was so glad I took her.
We always go to my moms from there on a Wednesday. I maybe wouldn't have gone today though, as I thought she'd be desperate for a sleep by then, but my mom had messaged saying my Uncle Lee and Jutta (who are over from Germany for the week) were coming at 3 as she'd told them I'd be round with Eva, so I went. I hadn't seen my Uncle Lee in a few years, and had never met his wife, Jutta, so obviously they'd never met Eva, so I was keen to see them. Eva did fall asleep in the car, but after 10 minutes of being at my moms, she was awake again, and that was the extent of her nap today.
It was so wonderful to see my Uncle Lee, he is such a character and had us in stitches with his mischievous ways of winding my Grandad up, who was also there. So we had a lovely couple of hours and I loved them seeing Eva. Grandad held Eva as we were leaving, and couldn't believe the weight of her hehe.
On the short drive home, we beeped the horn at Uncle Christopher, who was on his way home from work. He leapt in the car to say "hi", and ended up coming back for a cuppa and fed Eva her tea. ( I should say tea number 1, as tea number 2 consisted of self feeding carrot, cauliflower, potato and plum whilst we ate our tea).
I really thought babba girl would be a doddle to settle for bed tonight as she would be so tired. She was cheery at bath time and being dried and put in her pjs, and had a good solid milk feed and lots of cuddles with mommy, then went straight to sleep. It wasn't long though before she was awake and crying her eyes out :-( I went up and got some more wind up but she only wanted cuddles. Each time I tried to put her back in bed she would very quickly get very upset. Mike even spent about half an hour trying to settle her, I thought, will she settle better for her Daddy? She did, but again, as soon as he left, she was beside herself again. I don't know what's the matter with her. I'd say her teeth and her bottom, but she was all smiles and cheery throughout the day, it's just bedtime she gets very upset. I went back up and pulled her into bed next to me for more cuddles and milk, and held her hand, then gently lifted her up and back into her own bed, she pulled snuggle bear to her, sucked on her dummy, and slowly but surely drifted off to sleep. That was at around 9.30 pm I think , it's now 11pm and so far so good. Xxxxxx
