To have a Gardener's Assistant

The moment one starts doing anything involving soil in the garden, my new friend chirpie makes an appearance.

Here we have begun the process of top dressing the vegetable patch by using home made compost.

I find that this is much the easiest way of preparing the soil for next year.

Of course our friend here was having a field day. I took several photographs only to find that he had moved on. I eventually caught up with him but I regret it is in the shade.
