Ed's Blip

Whitby Pier

It was a beautiful sunny morning so I joined Dad a walk to explore the village. After breakfast, all of us set off for a walk into Whitby. I carried Orla on my back in the Bushbaby.

Whitby was absolutely mobbed by the bank holiday weekend crowds and it was very slow progress getting through the town to the beach. We rolled up our jeans and went for a paddle It was the first time Orla has been in seawater. She loved it.

We had fish and chips for lunch in a seafront restaurant. The portions were massive.

After an crossing the bridge into the old town and then deciding it was too busy, we headed back to Ruswarp. I was really struggling with carrying Orla all the way back so Anne took her for the last half mile.

After Charles and Kirsty left we took a drive to Staithes but didn't have the £6 in change required for the pay and display. Instead we went to a cafe in Sand's End.

We had a very relaxed evening. Dad and I had a fee beers whilst Mum watched some telly and Anne put Orla to bed before they joined us in the kitchen. We didn't need any dinner because of the massive lunch. Just a bit of roasted cheese done in the Aga.

Here's a link to the rest of the photos from the weekend.
