Lost and Found
On Sunday, I thought I had lost my lovely eternity ring forever. Saturday evening, I had trouble getting my eternity ring and wedding ring off as my fingers were a bit swollen. As a result, both rings took a little bit of pulling and twisting to get off and when they eventually came off, my eternity ring, so I thought, flew across the bedroom floor. Any normal person would retrieve it straight away but for some reason I didn't and forgot all about it, until Sunday morning! From Sunday through to Wednesday, we searched high and low for it and couldn't find it anywhere, beginning to come to a possible realisation that maybe Tinkerbell had found it and thought it was something to play with and subsequently lost it under a skirting board or something like that! You can imagine how upset I was thinking it might be lost forever! Hubby had bought it for me for our tenth wedding anniversary back in 2004 while we were on holiday in Dubai. There are the most amazing Gold shops there with the most blingiest bling you've ever seen in your life!!! As a result, gold and diamonds were so much cheaper there than in the UK so we were able to get this ring for a lot less than what it would cost here. It's 18 carat gold inset with 12 diamonds and I fell in love with it as soon as I put it on my finger. So it has real sentimental value in every sense of the word and the thought of it being lost was not something I wanted to come to terms with. Anyway, on Wednesday, the only place we hadn't looked was in our chest of drawers, but as I was convinced the drawers weren't open at the time, I had little hope of finding it! Knicker draw searched, hubby's draw searched and then came my sock draw and lo and behold, half way through searching through its contents, there it was glistening at me!! How happy was I??!!!!!!!......VERY!!!! So lesson learned, make sure you look for something straight away!! In other news, had to pop down to my parents today to clean their bathroom and downstairs toilet for them!!! Deep joy!!! I hate cleaning bathrooms!! Mum fell off a stepladder putting a hanging basket up in the garden last week and bruised her ribs, so is finding some tasks a bit beyond her at the mo. Hence me being the dutiful daughter that I am, off I trotted with my marigolds!! The bathroom and cloakroom were sparkling by the time I finished I can tell you!!!
