Elmer's Place

Today we popped in to see Elmer Long - just outside Oro Grande - at his home - Bottle Tree Ranch.

Thousands of bottles have been dangled from metal *trees* over the years by said gentlemen - a collection started many years ago and resembles some kind of sculpture park.

Today we travelled from Glendora - taking in the foothills of the San Gabriel Mountains - climbed up Cajun Summit - where to our delight saw a large group of Harley Davidson riders just about to disappear over the top - entered the Mohave Dessert - where the Route runs parallel with railway tracks - extremely busy with freight traffic.

Now in Barstow - the plan is working - it's where we hoped to
