An ordinary life....

They Say it Never Rains on a Golf Course...

Well I have proof that it DOES! ;)

David took Alan for his flu jab this morning. They walked to the health centre then I got a phone call to go and rescue them as the dull, misty morning had turned to torrential rain!

We used to always go away on holiday during the October school week but haven't the last couple of years so as a wee consolation prize, David surprised me by saying he was taking me for lunch at the Dormy Clubhouse at Gleneagles. I didn't need to be asked twice.

We had a lovely lunch sitting at a table looking onto the 18th fairway of the Queen's Course. Unfortunately the weather was so awful the view was non-existent and they had closed the course so there were no golfers to laugh at as they duffed their shot watch and admire their skill.

It was so wet I didn't risk getting my camera out so it's an iPhone shot today of the pond between the Clubhouse and Gleneagles Hotel. It's so beautiful here, I really hope the weather is much better than this for next year's Ryder cup!

Got home and we are so stuffed, neither of us are fit to move. Infact David is lying on the couch snoring his head off! Going to be an exciting Saturday night here, I can tell :))

PS We played guess the cost of lunch before we got the bill. I was two pounds out. David was nearly thirty pounds out....and not in a good way. I suspect this may be my last memory of lunch here :-))
