Moffat War Memorial

Today's the day ...................... for autumn leaves

A lovely day today as we headed north to Edinburgh through the Scottish Borders. The colours of the autumn leaves on the trees and the bracken-covered hills in the bright sunshine was stunning.

This is the war memorial in Moffat, unveiled by the local M.P. for Dumfriesshire in 1920. It's about 30 feet in height with the burgh crest, the flying spur, in bronze. It is erected on the old historic site of the Market Cross........................
