A distressing day!

.....but not in the way you are thinking! Today I attended a one day course on how to use "Annie Sloan" decorative chalk paint to create an aged or distressed look on furniture. There were ten of us on the workshop and it was good fun.

We were each given a little wooden table to work on, applied a white coat and then I chose "Paloma" this gray/lilac paint. After the two coats (and they dry really quickly) I waxed the table and then rubbed it with sandpaper to create the aged look, before applying a final coat of wax.

As a first attempt it's not too bad and is now sitting proudly in the bathroom with a pile of magazines on it.
