Feeding the calves

It was an early start this morning - out the door at 5.15am to milk the cows. It was chilly - 3,4 degrees, but was made all worth while getting up early, seeing the full moon lighting the sky, and the beautiful display of stars. As usual, once daylight arrived, so did the fog. And it was thick. But when the fog lifted, we had a glorious day. And the grass has grown this weekend - just what every farmer was wishing for. This photo is son C feeding the calves this morning, amongst the fog. You will see the large puddle of water - this was the result of all the rain we had last week. Hopefully it will now be drying up fast .
