Into the fray

This afternoon I went to watch a re-enactment of The Battle of Edgehill which took place during the English Civil War on October 23rd 1642. It was a major battle with 12400 soldiers on the Royalist side and 15000 soldiers on the Parliamentarian side. Which side was victorious on the day is still inconclusive.

There weren't quite as many soldiers on the field today but it was still exciting and a good watch. Half way through the heavens opened and the soldiers were drenched in torrential rain. We retreated to nearby tents whilst the battle raged on. Eventually it finished and groups from opposing sides walked towards each other and shook hands. I don't think this bit was historically accurate but it was a nice touch.

I wanted to get a shot that conveyed the chaos and noise of the battle. I hope you like it and that you've all had a good Sunday.
