The children all wanted to go back to the beach today. And we just about had enough beach stuff left, so agreed! We went to a wonderful beach, Floreat. Today really felt like we were 'living the Australian dream'. A day like they have every day. We got out, the kids played on the beach park, as we had coffee in the sunshine. Birthday parties gathered in the picnic areas, friends came to join us. We went down to the beach and played in the water, we collected more pebbles and shells, and a bit of sand for a beach collage picture. We built sandcastles, we had snacks. We dried the children off and went back to the park for another play. We took the children for lunch in The Kiosk, right next to Floreat Surf Club, where crowds of (happy, fun, not rowdy) teenagers played beach volleyball. People chatted to the children, the children petted dogs, Katie ate a mountain of pasta. We went back to the park, where we had to almost drag the children from to head back home.
