Australia Party

3years 360days

Today is our last night. So Lauren kindly offered that Katie could have a birthday party for her Australian friends that we've made. We've been so touched with how welcome we have been made by them all, it was a perfect way to say goodbye. I managed to throw together pink balloons, bunting and tableware with leftovers from Edie's party. A Dora the Explorer cake with sparklers and candles, a bouncy castle, lots of balloons, and the result was one happy Katie. They had morning tea together, lots of gorgeous fruit, little sandwiches and australian crackers (kids crisps). We even managed to get them all to sit for the photo - on the promise of cake.

When all was cleared up, we asked Katie what she wanted to do for her last night in Australia. She chose the beach. We packed up and headed back to Hillary's. Katie and I went in to the surf shop and bought her a proper aussie Billabong wetsuit. Its lush! We then played all of us in the sea. I had a great swim with Max, the girls played on the beach park. Max and Katie took lots of photos of each other, of me with each of them, of the beautiful sunset that Australia treated us to for our last evening. Aunty Lauren and Edie went to buy the fish and chips for our picnic supper as the sun came down on the day.
