Oak sapling

Not terribly exciting, I guess, but this is a two-years old 3 feet six inches tall young oak tree, grown from an acorn I picked up and pocketed on Cape Cod whilst on holiday there in the fall of 2010.
It is thriving and looks very well, so we are delighted at the fast progress it is making.
It cheered me up on yet another miserable grey day in this wet spell we are going through, especially when a planned trip to Henley in Arden for an evening "walking with owls" was called off because of the weather. It will be rearranged, so watch this space for some owl shots later!
Hope springs eternal.......
For the present we must derive some simple gratification from an imported little acorn which one day should be a majestic, spreading oak tee.
