Paris, Pigeon Preening
Day two in Paris didn't start that well. Some of us had partaken in too much of the 'naughty ladies' wine and the apartment door wouldn't lock, so we had to wait for a locksmith.
We approached the Eiffel Tower from the Chaillot, it was fantastic to step out into the open from the Metro and to feel a lovely breeze blowing up the hill. My pic shows the gilded figures of the Rights of Man from the terrace of the Chaillot Palace.
When we got to the tower the queue was too long so we took a river trip instead. I got some great shots, including some of lovers on the banks of the Île de la Cité.
We disembarked at the Louvre, again I got some decent pics but we didn't go in as it was getting late.
Back at the apartment we had a Nyetimber vs Champagne tasting and my sister Cathy cooked a cauldron of delicious curry for us. We sat drinking wine and chatting until the early hours, some of us not having seen one another for fifteen years.
