Hibiscus

"Hibiscus is a genus of flowering plants in the mallow family, Malvaceae. It is quite large, containing several hundred species that are native to warm-temperate, subtropical and tropical regions throughout the world."
...Wikipedia

We have several mallow varieties Native to Florida, this however, is not one of those. I grew up with Hibiscus all around me in South Florida. It was common to plant them as hedges around the yards. Back in the day...Red, Pink, White or Yellow were your choices. Folks nowadays have Many varieties to choose from. Every color imaginable, blooms with multiple colors, singles, doubles and even triples are readily available. They are fairly easy to propagate by cuttings, but since they're so common, it's hardly worth the effort.

This bloom awaited me at the neighborhood Lowe's, and if you are thinking, What?...it's a Big Box Home Improvement Store. Hope you enjoy :)
