For Autumn Tasks
A good day today with every chance of rain for the next few days. Time for Stuart my gardener to finish mulching my veggie patch.
I am very pleased with this compost. We just spread a layer of it over the beds and then leave the worms to do the rest over the winter. We do very little digging of the plot because there is no need.
This compost was gathered together last year and just left to get on with it. I only once turned a compost heap and found it hard work. The only thing I do especially with the compost is to give it a liberal dose of sieved ash from my many bonfires and perhaps turn the hose on it if it is particularly dry weather.
