Highly Unsprung

Braemar beasties

Much needed trip out of the house during a pretty dormant and uneasy week off up, so it was up the Donside and down the Deeside amid the raging autumn colours and rivers in spate. Braemar was the destination by a very round the houses route via Huntly and the Lecht to do a knitted squirrel charity hunt that took us to places we'd never been to before, including Annie Lennox's Granny's house. Sprogs loved it and walked for miles high and low spotting knitted squirrels in trees with names like Tim Minchin. We saw a real red squirrel, birds of prey and of course deer. Had a wild goose chase for some mythical deer antlers that turned out to be a stick. Home via the wells of Poldhu that were not so enticing as they were in their prime, but then again that was centuries ago. And I even managed to buy some Christmas prezzies from some wee gem of a tuck shop at the foot of the lecht.
