sparkling in the rain

Not for the first time this week I have been grateful not to be sleeping under canvas! My sister and brother-in-law are staying with me at the moment and this morning my brother-in-law and I got totally drenched taking the dogs for a walk along the River Earn. Much of the autumn foliage has already fallen prey to the winds and torrential rain and the path was strewn with colourful but soggy leaf litter. This display was probably the best to be seen along the path and you can see the backdrop of the swollen and fast flowing river. Only a few months ago this river was so low that you could walk right across it in some parts. Needless to say Bruce and Cara loved every soggy minute and it took me some time once home to get them even remotely dry.
