Willie Royal, Callie Chappel, Steve @ Blase Cafe

The Blase Cafe on Siesta Key features wonderful musicians on their open air patio so a group of us Callie Chappel fans went to hear Callie with world famous Willie Royal ( who plays violin with Los Lobos) and Steve on Percussion. I knew Callie from a Course In Miracles group from long ago and it was chance to hear her sing and enjoy a night out with friends Deb Birr, Kathleen Proctor and my new friend Pam. Callie's voice was strong and she said it was a miracle as she had been really sick and was not sure she would make the gig this past night. You couldn't tell as she played guitar and belted out songs in her wonderful throaty voice. We were treated to many old favorites and songs she had written and recorded over her career. Willie Royal is a master violinist and was truly carrying the audiance along with his wonderful riffs off of Calllies singles. Steve the percussionist was a strong addition to the trio and it was all a very magical night. The crowd was loving the music and we were so thrilled to have been there. Blase Cafe and Martini Bar also has wonderful food-such a great patio and a wonderful vibe! We will definitely come back to hear them perform again!
