Enchanted Gardens

Lots of walking today! Walked to the reservoir in the morning to feed the ducks. Didn't quite make it there, my friend's navigation wasn't functioning properly, but it was a lovely walk all the same and we saw the reservoir from a distance if not the ducks!

Had a spell in the Minor Injuries unit when one child announced they'd 'accidentally swallowed a penny coin!' All confirmed fine, just got to wait for it to pass!!!

This meant the swimming trip we had planned at Freshwater Holiday park had to be cancelled as we ran out of time, but we still managed to get to Abbotsbury as planned for the Enchanted Floodlit Gardens.

We took all the children last year, and they had lots of fun running around the paths in the dark, hiding and jumping out trying to scare us. This year was no different, and it really puts us in the mood for Halloween/Bonfire Night and the fake snow machine and wicker reindeer at the entrance really gets the children excited about Christmas. Only 59 days to go!!!!

We stopped in the Chinese shelter/pagoda for hot soup and Halloween biscuits. Such a lovely view out at the trees and shrubs which were illuminated with uplighters with various different coloured gel frames to great effect. Snapped the children there looking out whilst drinking their soup.

Finished our walk round and got back to the car just in time - the heavens opened and we drove back in the rain! Lovely day!!
