Romance in Paris

A very hectic day starting with a downpour as we stepped out of the hotel. This caused an immediate replan of the day - we headed off to the Louvre. Have a whole load of great takes today, but, I suppose, if you can't get any in somewhere like Paris, you might as well put your camera away.

I do have evidence that mobile phones have been around an awful long time. In fact this proof is etched in stone. I'll upload this when I get home.

After the Louvre we walked down the banks of the Seine to Notre Dame where, in celebration of a mere 850 years, they have erected a large stand so that you can sit and admire unrestricted views of the cathedral and watch the tourists streaming in and out. This couple were getting a self portrait with the cathedral looming up behind them. A private and tender moment, hopefully without anything having been stolen.

Having been around the cathedral we headed off towards Sainte Chapele. A stunning 13th century chapel hidden inside the Paris justice centre. Having found it, we decided on lunch before we went in. In response to our now screaming feet and legs, we wandered around the area including a local market selling mainly birds. Unusual for such a location.

Am hoping the storm that is forecast for home is less severe than the news keeps shouting. Am particularly worried that my car is in the firing line of any broken tiles.
