Interesting day! First highlight was a Sparrowhawk taking a Sparrow from a feeder. The Sparrow got away :-) but the Sparrowhawk went hungry :-(.
Secondly, my friend phoned from Devon. She is was supposed to be arriving tomorrow to stay for a few days, but as she is in a vulnerable area, she has postponed her arrival until Tuesday, by which time hopefully the bad spell of wether will have passed (see what I did there!). Next, I DID go to the foray this morning. It was surprisingly well attended despite the hokey-cokey weather. We found plenty of stuff, including one or two unusual things like this one, a first for me. We concluded that it was an Earthfan, but even Ziggy was not sure which one. It's a first for me, whatever it turns out to be, and I've posted it on iSpot in the hope that someone can narrow it down. Another surprise today was that the pumpkin bread I made last night turned out to be edible
