break free...
[edit]: changed the pic :)
what happens when someone (or something) tries to take control of your action by putting too many restrictions? you try to break free. that's exactly what happened today. In honour of the Late CM, it was a state mourning today. pretty much all the offices - Govt and private were closed today. all the shops were closed, which actually caused trouble to some people who don't stock up their supplies for the entire month. on cable, only news channels were broadcasted - all other music/movie/soap/sports channels were taken off-air today. And the news channels were live telecasting the cremation and mourning across the state. I wanted to go and catch a movie today - been a while but due the 'mourning', it was out of question. I don't understand how burning tyres on the road can be a mark of respect to the departed leader.
So when farside asked for an outing with the camera in the afternoon, I jumped at the idea. this was one of the most random outings in recent times. we started for the botanical garden for the regular flowers and etc shots but to our dismay, found it closed - yes, you guessed it right, because of the mourning. not wanting to turn back, we just decided to ride on and simply go wherever the road takes us. farisde spotted a big puddle (actually too big for a puddle) by the roadside and we stopped there. I took off my shoes, rolled up my pants and walked right into it. the feeling of walking freely in that ankle to knee deep water without any inhibitions felt so relaxing after two days of forced restrictions. I just sat quietly on one of the stones in the puddle and started shooting randomly.
for the return journey, a circuitous route was taken, hoping to find a tea shop. but we ended on dirt tracks, through the paddy fields and insanely wide roads in the middle of wilderness. I wanted to go ahead and find the route home but farside was adamant on turning around and retracing our path. finally we reached home and on the way back, was glad to see normalcy restored in the city.
see it in BIG :)
have a great weekend...I have a working day tomorrow.
