Scorpio Birthday Party!

When Laurie and I first got together she told me she was worried that I wouldn't be able to endure her Scorpio intensity. What she didn't know was that I'd already been best pals with two of the most intense Scorpios ever - Gwen and Nan, shown here jamming on a blues song.

Gwen and I have played music together for a couple of decades - we are musical soul mates. She and Nan and I have seen each other through the best and the worst of times. I love them dearly - but we don't see much of each other these days. We must try to remedy that.

We have a tradition of celebrating the 3 Scorpio birthdays sometime in late October or early November. We've missed some years, but I was determined to make it happen this year. We had wonderful food and cupcakes and shared stories, songs and poems - and of course, lots of laughter.
